Bill Prasad LPC-S, LCDC

Vice President of Clinical Programs

Bill is originally from Philadelphia and has lived in Houston, Killeen and Waco. His experience as a private practice clinician and EAP counselor has put him in front of myriad populations including military personnel, firefighters, police, and professional athletes. He is trained in Critical Incident Stress Management and has helped workers rocked by situations which include a mass shooting, unexpected employee deaths or layoffs. His experience in addiction treatment includes working as a counselor and Clinical Supervisor where he has treated adolescents and adults in detox, residential, inpatient/outpatient  and criminal justice settings.  Also, he has worked as a Director for several Houston hospitals. Bill has Master’s Degrees in Counseling Psychology, and Modern Studies and a certifications in trauma psychology and leadership.

Bo Allaire, MD

Medical Director

Dr.  Allaire was born and raised in Houston, Texas where he, like many Texas youth, played a lot of football.  Many injuries and doctor’s visits led him to discover his passion for medicine.  Dr. Allaire went on to graduate valedictorian from The University of Houston and then from Baylor College of Medicine.  Pursuing his interest in primary care, he joined San Jacinto Methodist Family Medicine Residency, where he graduated as Chief Resident.  After Board Certification in Family Medicine and a few years in private practice, he met and had the opportunity to train under Dr. Eugene Degner.  Degner, recovering alcoholic, and renowned Addiction Medicine Specialist has trained Dr. Allaire in the delicate and misunderstood art of addition medicine.  Dr. Allaire, a now Board Certified in Addiction Medicine Specialist, brings his passion and knowledge to Lifeway, focusing on the appropriate medical treatment for the addicted brain.

Joel Smith

Director of Admissions

Joel was born and raised in College Station, TX and has been living in the Houston area since 1998.  While participating in the Lifeway program, and eventually graduating from it in 2000, he developed a passion for working in substance abuse treatment.  He went on to help save the lives of many other young adults and adolescents as an employee and has been working in the field now for over 15 years.  He returned to Lifeway this year as Director of Admissions to utilize his expertise and experience in helping clients and families through the most difficult step in recovery…the first one.

Kevin Johnson, LCDC-I

Intake Director

Kevin joined the Lifeway International team in 2016 as the Intake Director. Imbued with the verve to serve, Kevin is an LCDC-Intern who brings 10 years of experience in the substance abuse treatment field, as well as 25 years of customer service and management experience. Both of these drive his passion for helping clients and families in crisis obtain the help they seek. Kevin is happily married to the love of his life and is fortunate to have three dogs that take him for walks regularly.

Kristina Beaman

Director of Operations and Human Resources

Kristina is a native Houstonian that brings over twenty years of management and employee development experience to her role at Lifeway.  She began her career as a leasing consultant for a commercial office building in New York City and worked her way through the ranks of property management to overseeing several multi-million dollar portfolios in the Houston and Austin areas.  She is an active member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and a former student of the University of Texas at Austin.  Kristina is dedicated to Lifeway’s success and devoted to bringing a solution to those struggling with the disease of addiction.

Rosanne Shaul - LCSW, LCDC-Intern

Clinical Director of Outpatient Services

Rosanne is a licensed clinical social worker and chemical dependency counselor intern. Since completing her studies at The University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work, Rosanne has provided dual diagnosis services in inpatient and outpatient treatment centers. She is skilled in a variety of treatment modalities, including motivational interviewing, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, and cognitive behavior therapy and identifies the best approach based on the individual client and family’s needs. Rosanne is passionate about supporting families in building healthier relationships while managing the trials of addiction recovery.

Jody Alexander

Director of Behavioral Health Technicians

Jody is a proud native of San Antonio with a passion for supporting clients as they strive to overcome their struggles with addiction. With fourteen years of experience in the fields of addiction and mental health, his empathy and compassion are evident as he focuses on client safety. In his free-time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, children, and one-year-old grandbaby.

Scott Kana, M Ed, LCDC-Intern

Director of School, Cates Academy

Scott joins the Lifeway and Cates Academy family after 28 years in public education.  Mr. Kana’s resume includes teacher, coach, assistant principal, principal, assistant superintendent, and Superintendent of Schools. Mr. Kana also currently holds a Chemical Dependency Counselor Intern license.
